Zubat, Pidgey and Bulbasaur – the ultimate wedding crashers
Even on your wedding day, you just can’t seem to escape the phenomenon that is Pokémon GO.
When bride Elizabeth Corpse and groom Joe Whiddett arrived at their wedding venue, they quickly found it to be marked as a battle gym - a place where gamers battle and train their Pokémon.
Guests were found playing away on their phones during their reception at the Woodlands Park Hotel in Cobham.
Screenshots, blurring bridal scenes with virtual reality, show a Venonat watching the Bride outside the church and a Zubat attending the ceremony.
Elizabeth said: "All of the guests who play were all trying to take it over and battling each other.
"As soon as our car pulled up to the reception my bother informed my husband that there were two Bulbasaurs in the car park.
The bride was left stunned when the uninvited Pokémon creatures stole her spotlight on the big day, but ended up having a big laugh about it.
"A lot of Pokemon talk happened at the wedding and I was worried it would steal our thunder but actually it was pretty fun getting photo bombed by the odd Pokemon.
Elizabeth said that she even had trouble keeping her new husband away from his phone.
"It was hard keeping my new husband off Pokémon Go and I don't know if he's caught them all yet but he's definitely caught me."
Having been downloaded 15 million times, the app has become the most popular download in the UK on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
The mobile app uses the phone’s GPS to detect your location, superimposing Pokémon on to the real world in front of you. All that's left to do is to catch them all.
